Preparing Spiritually for the Mission Field

By
“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” – Ephesians 6:10 The mission field is not just a destination on a map — it’s a battlefield of the soul. Structure and Literary Style Lamentations consists of five poetic chapters. Four of them follow an acro...

By

Written during the Babylonian exile, Ezekiel speaks to a displaced people struggling with loss, guilt, and confusion about their future. Ezekiel’s message assures Israel that God’s presence is not limited to Jerusalem or the temple. Even in exile, God remains sovereign, holy, and actively working to restore His people. Historical Background and Authorship Ezekiel was a priest and prophet taken into exile in Babylon in 597 B.C. He ministered among the Jewish exiles along the Kebar River. Unlike Jeremiah, who prophesied in Jerusalem, Ezekiel delivered God’s messages from foreign soil. His ministry emphasized personal responsibility, God’s glory, and future restoration. “In the thirtieth year… the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.” (Ezekiel 1:1) The Vision of God’s Glory Ezekiel opens with an overwhelming vision o...
